I have reinstalled PCLinuxOS 2010 but I used the LXDE version this time. Everything works the same except for my hotkey capability on my Acer Extensa laptop of fn+up or down arrow is not enabled, which is used for sound volume. I have not confirmed if other fn+key settings work yet.
I did go into the keyboard settings and chose Acer/Laptop, but that did not enable the hotkeys. Can anyone provide guidance on setting them up in LXDE? I could always switch to KDE, but LXDE seems pretty snappy (well...snappier....KDE is fast as well). I tried going into Synaptic and installing the keyboard program (first of 2 listed....at work now and can't recall the name), but it showed installed in Synaptic but was not found on the menus. At that point I knew it was not to be while I rubbed my tired eyes and realized it was only 5 hours till I had to be back up for work.
Any guidance is appreciated. Simple problem, but I use that feature constantly. If too difficult I'll just throw KDE back on and enjoy as before.
