(solved) Helping me understand "speed test fail"
« on: May 04, 2010, 04:25:10 PM »
The response given here

http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,72110.0/topicseen.html

has me confused. I am looking at the speed test script and I think I see where the actual test is being performed but fail to understand why a repo sync would cause the repo to fail.

I only want to understand, I am not questioning the author of the script, or the response. A fine job, well above my abilities.

Thanks.

When a repo is in mid sync it could be offline, certainly the bandwidth would be taken up, and even if you could reach it, you certainly wouldn't want to do an update from it.

I guess what I really failed to understand is how the sync works. Thanks Joble, this helps clear up some things.
