pcLOS on a IMac ?
« on: May 02, 2010, 10:01:30 AM »
Yes, it runs smoothly...  ;D
With the Gnome-Desktop, i have a IMac with intel Core Duo - 512MB and for Leopard i must have more than 512MB.
I am testing now, before to buy a DDR-Memory, and, Leopard and IWork (Office)
All those things cost money, and thats the thing i have not enough  ::)

I have installed the Gnome 2010 on the Mac, and its good. Just the Sensors... The fans are good, but one of my temps go's in the red, but it gives no alarm...
The only good distro's for that machine are, Mepis, pcLOS and Mandriva.
When i succeeded i don't have to give out extra money.
Now i wait and see whats happening.  ::)

Well the fans on my Mac go's in to red...
HD must be minimum 1400 and is 1398
ODD is 799 and must be minimum 800
CPU is 799 and must be minimum 800
I don't now, got to buy new stuff for my Mac i think....
Never the less, i tried. For the rest i have no problems to run pcLOS on my other computer, The reason for all that testing on my Mac is that i like Linux more than Tiger... And money.

Have succeeded to install the KDE4 version of pcLOS on the IMac, 20 inch screen... Beautiful !
Everything looks ok, see what that machine gonna do in the future... Got maybe a new life, without great costs.
Love Linux...
