HP mini 110 Sound really low.

I just installed a fresh install of 2010 and the sound is really low. The volume is maxed out any suggestions. I have also had the same problem on a Dell Studio 17.

Which PCLinuxOS version are you using? What sound card do you have?

I installed PCLinuxOS 2010 the new release. The card I have is  IDT High-Definition at least that is all I can find. I can hear the sound but its super low about like a headphone. And that was a fast response.

just to make sure.. (because colors are so washed out that it is easy to missing a "sleeping" slider...)
in kmixer or on the "loud speaker" icon?
have a go at "control center", "multimedia", select your card and "test"...

But my friend, there are a few different releases of PCLinuxOS 2010

KDE and KDE Minime / Gnome & Gnome Zenmini / LXDE & LXDE mini / E17 / Phoenix

So it's always best to supply as much info as possible relating to the problem AND the OS version and hardware specs, as that way forum members are far more likely to offer an accurate answer.

KMixer has an icon in the right hand side of the taskbar/panel which allows you to modify volume and different sound settings

I have tried changing the sound card and still no luck, just really low audio. Any other advise would be appreciated.

I just loaded the gnome version of PCLinuxOS and the sound works amazing. I think I am just going switch to gnome even though I like kde better.

You can install KDE whilst using Gnome and then you can switch between desktops at will.

Open synaptic, and look for task-kde4 and that will install the KDE4 DE. WHen you've installed it do a full reboot, and when you get to the MAIN log-in screen, select Session Type and choose KDE (or Gnome)
