Synching various machines
« on: May 01, 2010, 03:14:02 PM »
Now that Dropbox is standard in the ISO, has anyone thought about possibly setting up Thunderbird and Sunbird to place their data (email, address book, calendar, etc.) right in the Dropbox folder?  Seem to me it would be very simple way to keep things synchronized across several machines (even your netbook).

Any thoughts?  Downsides?  Upsides?

If you're going to do that, I'd just use gmail/calendar/address book....done. From anywhere, and fast.
The idea that Bill Gates has appeared like a knight in shining armour to lead all customers out of a mire of technological chaos neatly ignores the fact that it was he, by peddling second-rate technology, who led them into it in the first place. - Douglas Adams (1952 - 2001)
