welcome home, thomasfwilliams

is freecol in the repository (synaptic)?  if not you would be well advised to not install it as it will render your install non-standard and we won't be able to offer support.

have you done an update?

first open synaptic and click reload.  then click mark all updates.  if there are updates, the grey arrow will go green.  click apply, apply and your system will update.

look in synaptic for the package you want and mark for installation.  if it's not there, when you have ten posts you will be able to put in a request for it (if someone doesn't beat you to it).  do read the rules for posting there as your request will be ignored if you don't supply all the info required.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't been able to find it in the repository. It is a java based game and I like the game (but not enough to give up PCLinuxOS) and it runs on other distributions. It is a .jar installer and I can't get the installer to run.
