Wrong Rez on boot
« on: April 29, 2010, 01:01:35 PM »
Yesterday, wehn I booted my PCLInuxOS system, the log-in screen came up really large.  All icons, text boxes, etc, were much larger graphically then normal.  Definitely the wrong rez.  So, I decided to select an option from the menu and chose "Restart X."  (this restarts the video driver, correct?)  Well the system went into a reboot and the screen went black and remained black.  I tried doing REISUB a few times to get things to reboot, but no avail.  The system simply would not come up.

I ended up powering down completely.  I waited a minute or two, then rebooted. Everything came up fine.

The next time this happens, what's the best and fastest fix?
Toonfully,

Mark

If this is repeatable, then others can help you troubleshoot. What kernel are you using?

It's not repeatable. This is the only time it's happened. Hasn't happened again. Running 2.6.26.8.tex3

Probably just a glitch in the matrix... Like when you are looking for your keys and look back in a place you just looked and suddenly they are there.
