Install Problem with PCLinuxOS 2010 KDE (Solved)
« on: April 28, 2010, 12:47:29 PM »
Hello,

I am trying to install PCLinuxOS 2010 KDE and it doesn't show the graphical installer screens. When I boot it, it loops displaying these
three lines over and over.

Initialize gfx code
boot:
gfxboot:

I did a MD5Sum check on the downloaded ISO file and it was fine. I was able to install it within a Virtualbox session.
I also ran a MediaCheck within the Virtualbox session and it gave an "OK". I had Virtualbox use the actual CD itself and
checked passthru.

I also booted the CD on an older PC and it started up fine, The MediaCheck completed with an OK, so I cancelled the install.
It fails trying to install it on this PC. My PC uses an Abit IP35 Pro motherboard, Core 2 Quad 6600 CPU and a MSI NX8600Gt video card (nVidia 8600).
Any help would be appreciated. It

Type LiveCD and it will boot the CD. LiveCD is case sensitive. Seems to be a common problem with Quad 4s.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

Thank you Texstar. I did as you suggested and it booted properly.

I will mark it (Solved).
