Did you install printerdrake from Synaptic?

Edit: Or you can install task-printer.

Odd, my HP printer was detected and offered to setup even from the livecd, and was ready after install  as well.
There is no shame in saying "I don't know".

Hi,

Try installing "task-printing-hp" from Synaptic. After that, go to Menu -> More Applications -> Printing -> HP Device Manager to install the printer. You may have to reboot in order to start CUPS.

Hope this helps

Rick.

I set up my HP 4550 AIO from PCLinuxOS Control Center>Hardware>Printers... worked easily for network sharing, too.

Also, I know not all drivers are included, but I haven't had to install anything extra for this printer from Synaptic for 2009 or any of the last betas, etc, and it has all of its functions.
