<SOLVED> samba not found by windows 7
« on: August 03, 2010, 06:51:41 PM »
Hi,

I am trying to network my laptop with my linux machine. My linux machine is running PCLOS with samba enabled.

When I boot my laptop in OS X, it finds my linux machine and I can connect just fine.

Under windows 7, It doesn't find my windows machine at all. I have tried smb://192.168.1.101 (ip of linux pc) under map a network drive but no luck there.

Any suggestions?

Edit: Fixed. See the favorite response here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/75-63-windows-samba-issue.

Hey,

So now I have basically mac, windows and pclos all talking to each other through Samba. If you can tell me what exactly is going on maybe I can help? Worth a shot anyways!
