It has an entry I have not noticed previously and do not have on this PC. Sorry cannot presently copy/paste (not on the PC) but lets say that the first lines of info are normal but there is this as a last line ........

There is another unused ethernet NIC which also has such a line

i've a pc with two nic's showing those lines (with different values) ...
did you try to connect the ethernet cable to the unused nic and see how it goes?

Yep same result.

Remember this was working for a while after initial install, it only became apparent of late.

The only thing I did with the install besides normal updates was to change from OSS to Pulse audio.

Anyway, it is not important to me.
It is a test install, and very easy to connect after booting ... 3 clicks of the mouse as I mentioned.

Just strange is all ......
