2010 LXDE Live Inspiron 1100 Partially Fails
« on: April 25, 2010, 03:52:16 PM »
I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 and am trying to use the LXDE live cd.  It seems to boot fine but never gets to a login screen.  Trying different options, I did get a screen that was wavy and unreadable.  I finally decided to boot to console.  I tried both root and guest and just entered startx.  This brought up the desktop without any issues.  So I'm guessing the problem might be related to GDM (is that what LXDE uses?).  I'd like to try XDM to see if that works, but I was unsure if there was a way to start using that.

Any thoughts?
