I don't know if this will work:

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LXDE#Font_Settings

Font Settings
Most users of LXDE usually try to use GTK programs because GTK is used as a backend for LXDE. To set the fonts, you can use lxappearance and set the main font but for other fonts you will need to use the Gnome 'Font Preferences' Control Panel. To install it:

pacman -S gnome-control-center
After you have set your preferences, you can remove the programs as the settings will be retained.

--------------- Edit:

DOH!  Maybe not.  Clock settings are in a different section of that wiki and this might not be related.

At the moment, the font scales with the icon size set in Panel Preferences/Geometry. Let me think about this a little and see if there is a way to take better account of the theme's font size in this calculation.

You can look there to see what is going on, but it looks like if you increase the panel icon size (right click on panel -select Panel settings) the font increases.

I don't know if this will work:

I do, and not here :D Thanks though, the "gnome-control-center" whem "turned on" doesn't like my desktop the way it is , simple enough to turn it off though, Plus it pulled in a few other things (I forget how many) one of which is a window theme "Aurora-Midnight" and some icons "Oxy2-zen" that I'm using now so it wasn't a total bust and I'm rather happy with the way it looks,It hasn't slowed me down on startup by more than a few seconds (5 sec. ? and after login it's still up in under 10 seconds.. 8))  so Thanks again Joble !

Couldn't help but to notice the link at the top for "Next Generation PCManFM 0.9 Alpha is released!" , at first I thought alright... and then I read this part

Actually, 0.9.0 is not a new version of PCManFM. It is a whole new total rewrite and redesign from scratch. So its code base is totally different from the old PCManFM 0.5.x series.

Hummmm.... I've gotten rather found of pcman in it's current config and for 90-95% of what I do I like it better than any thing I've used so far (mostly KDE) So here's to hoping they don't totally make it completely FUBAR
I wouldn't bet on it , But I'm still going to hope anyways.
