Is there some small handy utility for KDE4 which allows a user to select the audio device to which sound from a player should be channelled?

To explain ....  I have a set of speakers which are normally used as the output devices for a player.

I also have a set of wireless headphones which I would like to use at times when the speaker sounds might interfere with others in the vicinity.

I am looking for a utility which allows me to select the output device simply and easily.

Does such exist in KDE4?

Thanks. I had hoped to find a device selector without installing pulse audio.

I do not seem to be able to find such a utility using the default audio setup.

I took the plunge and installed Pulse audio and now have the needed functionality.

Although I failed to find a method to do what I wanted without Pulse I will nevertheless mark this as solved.

Pulse is (so far) behaving well.

regards.
