PClinuxOS - 2010 KDE with VIM editor
« on: April 25, 2010, 03:09:45 AM »
It appears that Tex and the team read the posts re VI (VIM) and has released an ISO with VI as one of the editors.

Can you believe this guy! Phenomenal!

Talk about responding to people wishes and concerns.

=======
Note: I downloaded mine from ftp.heanet.ie (not sure if the other mirrors have it)

Just checked and its on also ftp.nluug.nl and ftp.surfnet.nl so it may be worth trying sites close to your location

Tex thought of everything. We even have the correct Synaptic repo for this special edition: http://ftp.vim.org/ibiblio/distributions/pclinuxos/apt/

I tip my hat to all of you!

It's a joy to see a team working together as you all do, and of course, its people like moi who get all the benefits!!

I thought I'd be the only one to complain. Long live vi.

Cheers.

I love it.
Texstar responded to the hard core critics of PCLOS with a fatal blow.
PCLOS is of and for the community and the proof is in how quickly PCLOS-vim became available.

The critics aren't dead and gone. They'll always find something to mean ole lady about. But maybe they'll find
another distro to tangle with. This bull has horns.

Good job Tex and Devs answering the critics.

Although, I have to admit the times I've had to use vim it's seemed like a cruel joke.

I usually need it when I've kluged something up and can't boot.  I use it so rarely I can never remember the proper commands.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad there is a tool available.

Anyway, good job.
