Ander8:

There are any number of add on extensions for Firefox to d/l you tube type videos. Under Tools --> Add-ons. This will lead you to the mozilla site where you can do a search, then check out the ones you want to try. Site link is below.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox

For two panel file management, krusader, from Synaptic.

Not needed, nor encouraged. Packages not expressly compiled for PCLinuxOS can damage, or destroy your system. Rolling distributions are much more susceptible to damage from outside packages than static distributions. You should be able to find just about anything you need in our repo, and if you need something not there, you can ask that it be packaged. If it can be, it will be.

Ander8,

I have been using this one for years. It has evolved by leaps and bounds in that time.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006

I have not checked out any of the new ones. So, I do not know how they compare.

Ander8,
                Open Synaptic and press Reload.
Then use the Search button to find packages related to
YouTube and again Utube
You should then get some options to install.

DownloadHelper add-on for Firefox is also very good.

Dolphin can give you Split View and can also have separate Tabs if you wish.
You can edit your toolbars to add a button to give either or both for mouse clicking.

regards.

usually i dont use FF for normal browsing... i prefer lighter browsers as epiphany...
but FF has great extensions as PDFit and downloadhelper....
i use downloadhelper for downloading videos from youtube and such places...
it also has a nice feature of converting the videos to the extension u want as .avi or .mp4
you can try it...its nice
Hope that one day ill be able to help as much as I'm being helped now...
