Can't start KDE [SOLVED]
« on: April 22, 2010, 09:11:39 AM »
I just got my new install of 2010 configured and working as I need it and KDE crashed. ???  When I try to boot it, it says that temp is full.  So I booted into safe mode and can't find what the problem is.  Just how much room is needed to install and run 2010?  I ask simply because I created a 24 gig partition for root and 24 gig for home.  Now when I check each folder to see how much space it is taking up the bottom bar in properties reports that the entire 24 gig partition is full.  What could possibly be taking up that much space? ???

I'm embarrassed to say it but the above problem was created because I mistakenly moved a mass amount of data from one partition to a file in my root.  Once I removed it the problem went away. :-[  Unfortunately I deleted everything in temp thinking that was where the problem was.  So I've created other problems which I'll have to resolve.
Lesson Learned?  Never Never delete something unless you are absolutely sure!
