Resolve netbios in samba missing

I have just installed Samba for the first time ever yesterday, and also answered a forum post on an issue.

It appear that Samba need to resolve netbios names to tcpip - at least if I follow the walkthrough from the pcllinux magazine, sep. 09.

As both me and the forum poster got Samba working just fine adding nss_wins I suggest to include it as a dependency to Samba client.

Tried to find other ways/documentation - but couldn't find any, let me know if there is another way of setting it up (i.e. without wins) - meanwhile I'll alter the samba client package,

eeh, no, I give up understanding the samba.spec - it will take me several evenings to grasp this huge amount of variables and %mdkversions :-)

Issue is that it does not build clean here (with no alterations to the spec) - a 'talloc' package is not built.

I'll ask Tex (has packaged it last) someday if nss_wins can be included as dependency to samba-client someday,

I just added a task-samba to the repo so that should be all that is needed to install Samba.

he, let's make a deal - when mythTV is added (and the dust has settled) - I'll throw myself over the Samba thingey - bound to learn something new there, and are looking for a new project anyway :-)

A french user is complaining that Samba in 2010 is much slower than it was in 2009. His thread is here:

Could task-samba solve his problem if he uninstalls samba first and reinstall it with the meta package ?
