missing "vi" on new 2010 install
« on: April 21, 2010, 05:25:49 PM »
I just downloaded and installed the new "pclinuxos-kde-2010.iso".

Much to my surprise there is no "vi" editor?!

Code: [Select]
sudo find / -name vi revealed nothing.

Thanks for the reply, but all the distros I have ever used had vi installed, since its considered standard linux.
I realize that vim would be another install.

This is the first time I've used PCLinuxOS in several years. What would be the reasoning behind this issue?

I noticed you have nano installed. Why not vi...

You are defiantly asking the wrong guy. But if I know Tex, he probably did a pole to see what editor most of us wanted. He asks and listens to us and gives us what we want.

Besides, it's a 2 minuet install to get so no biggie for me at least. I do still use vi as I am so used to it.  :D
