unable to boot properly after updating
« on: April 21, 2010, 03:10:18 PM »
Hi,

I updated my PcLinuxOS 2009.2 and got two warnings:  '/etc/cups/cupsd.conf'  created as '/etc/cups/cupsd.conf.rpm.new
and '/etc/mozbeggarre '  created as /etc/mozbeggarre.rpmnew.

When I next booted up I only got about a third of the boot screen visible on the monitor.  I played about a bit but got nowhere.  I've now re-installed 2009.2 and seem to be okay.   But how would I go about updating again, please?

Hi flighty,

The 2009.2 version is no longer being updated (The new 2010 versions are now out for download - see links on the PCLinuxOS main web site http://pclinuxos.com/?page_id=180)

There is a "frozen" repo - see here:

http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,65202.msg528216.html#msg528216

Note: If you want to change to one of the 2010 versions a fresh clean MUST be done (can't update from 2009)

Post back if you have any queries.
