[SOLVED]Can't change default Folder in Thunderbird
« on: April 20, 2010, 06:41:31 PM »
So that I can access my email from several operating systems I have my default folder on another drive.  So I'm trying to change the "Local Folder" setting in Thunderbirds account settings.  It will allow me to navigate to the folder location but when I click on OK to change the setting it does nothing and I have to cancel out of it.  Any Idea's what needs to be changed?

UPDATE:  Just figured out the problem and thought I would post here in case anyone else encountered it.  As I mentioned I keep my "Local Folder" for Thunderbird on another partition to safeguard my emails.  I checked the permissions on every folder I could find except one.  I neglected to check the folder where the mount point was, and that was the problem.  It is owned by root and set to allow others to view but not change anything.  So all I had to do was change that setting and all works now. DUH! :-[  I'll mark as solved
