I started to have these issues, when I upgraded my 2009 install to KDE4. At the time, though I thought that I would wait to see if they got resolved with the 2010 release but alias, the problem persists.
OMGRIP and BRASERO do not see my DVD drive. Before the upgrade to KDE4, there was no problem so suspect that it may be an old config file lying around that uses the old cdrom name (if I recall, that changed when I upgraded to KDE4). Anyway, my question is where would I find such a config file(s). I've looked through the .gconf directory in /home but either I missed it or it wasn't apparent.
The other issue is with K3b. If I do a "copy medium", there is no problem if the original is a single layer dvd. I can read/play the DVD afterwards in both the Linux and Windows machines and the DVD player. However, if the original is a dual layer DVD, I can neither read nor play the created DVD in either the Linux or Windows machines but can play the created DVD in the DVD player attached to the TV. Is this too a config file issue?
Suggestion/comments welcome.
