Thanks for the quick reply. Although I love gui tools, I was hoping to hear something like, "you can now use "changes_dev=/dev/sda1" or "you should use "changes=LABEL=2010" or something like that, that is, in the grub/lilo kernel cheat-code.
The GUI tool Tex referred to is for creating a live USB install.
It, of itself, has no effect on the availability of persistence. It can include it, if persistence is working, but unfortunately it is not at present.
That is a difficulty that has yet to be overcome ...... and apparently will be looked at when time allows.
