Arduino running on 2010 live cd
« on: April 18, 2010, 08:18:59 PM »
I just posted over on the Arduino forum that it is easy to get my Arduino duemilanove running from the live cd. http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1271641903/0

Then I noticed in package suggest that someone posted there was a missing library or something.

Just to say, that using the live cd, the Arduino works, and I can use the examples or write my own sketches. I don't know what is missing.

Of course the arduino works on an installed version of PCLinuxOS. (Except still the library problem).

It just seems linux is still so 'hard' from looking at the arduino posts, and I wanted to give them a quick solution.

I am going to the Arduino get together in Boston this week, taking the Downeaster train.

The meeting is of all things in the the NERD building of Microsoft. Hope I won't 'disappear' after being searched and a stash of 2010 live cd's found in my cloak.

Nice writeup Nerdful! :-)

Glad you like the Arduino pagkage, took me some time to figure out how the packages interconnect, and there was no built system from other distros I could glance at - so it took some time putting the RPM's together.

Surely looks like it was well worth the effort,

enjoy your trip to Boston :-)

cheers,
