2010 final desktop/wallpaper graphics are fuzzy
« on: April 18, 2010, 08:21:33 AM »
Just installed 2010 kde final and am enjoying the desktop experience.  Now come the questions... :D

When the KDE login screen is loading (the one with the animated icons showing that stuff is loading), the desktop graphics are razor sharp.  As soon as the login process completes and the desktop is fully loading, the resolution of the wallpaper noticeably drops and becomes fuzzy.

Is there any way to maintain the sharper graphics?

As a side note, all other graphics on the desktop are sharp, it's just the wallpaper that goes fuzzy.

The display is a 1920x1080 emachines display.

TIA,

mikkl

In /usr/share/wallpapers/Air/contents/images
You will find the wallpaper in different sizes.
Pick the size that you want as your wallpaper then drag it onto the desktop and click "Set as wallpaper".
Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

Thanks for the pointer.  What I would really like to find is to find a high rez version of the current image.  The fact that it looks good while the desktop is loading suggests that a high quality version is available somewhere.
