I just installed 2010. It seems that autodetect wants to find the printer on parallel port /dev/lp0   By installing manually and changing it to /dev/usb/lp0 gets the printer working for me. Mine is a Samsumg ML1740 and has always been detected easy in previous PCLinuxOS installs.

 ;D  Thanks Texstar - that did it. I had to re-install Printerdrake, then followed your instructions.  Prints okay now.

Sorry that regenerate the topic, but I still have problems with the printer.
I apologize for my English, but I mainly use Google translator.
My task is to use an old dot matrix printer, which has only LPT port to a laptop that has no LPT only USB ports. For this purpose I use a USB to LPT cable /China made/ which works fine with Mandriva and MS XP. But I like more PCLinuxOS and to me it's perfect Distro.
When I first turn on the cable under Mandriva immediately below the right pop-up that included a printer and only remains for me to choose the correct printer driver. Unfortunately it's not working here.
I have read this topic / and many others / I do not have success.
First I changed the following:
AUTO_SETUP_QUEUES_ON_PRINTER_CONNECTED=yes
Then I reinstall the Printerdrake, but got no result - in PCC nothing is appears and when you try and add it manually //dev/usb/lp0, ........ /dev/usb/lp1, ...). also nothing happens.

I checked the packages one by one - all of which nstalled in Mandriva are installed here.
In Мandriva line is hal:///org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_1a86_7584_noserial_printer_noserial

lsusb in PCLinuxOS
[em@localhost ~]$ lsusb

Once again I want to congratulate you for the great distro!
