(SOLVED) Last Update Broke Synaptic

Since I updated a 7:00 a.m. this morning, synaptic will no longer open,  I was going to install  OOO from "get open office" and it wouldn't work.
That's when I discovered synaptic wouldn't open. PCLOS 2010 KDE 4.whatever was fine until the update. How do you undo an update?

I just updated the kernel to 2.6.33.2-pclos1.bfs and now everything seems to be fine.
Life is good.  8)

Sometimes it is a good idea to try a reboot after updating if you encounter a problem.

Same problem here. Synaptic wouldn't open after an update, although it would open as root in a terminal. I tried Tex's suggestion of rebooting and that fixed the problem.
