multiple nvidia drivers
« on: April 14, 2010, 07:30:20 AM »
Hi, running 2010beta2 and noticed a few things with my graphics. I'm running the "Nvidia geforce 6150 LE" card and my xorg.conf file says its using this...

Section "Device"
    Identifier "device1"
    VendorName "nVidia Corporation"
BoardName "NVIDIA GeForce 6100 and later"
    Driver "nvidia"
    Option "DPMS"
    Option "DynamicTwinView" "false"
    Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals"
EndSection

Am I running the correct driver?

Synaptic shows 3 different drivers installed as shown in the pic below. Which one should I use and which ones should I remove?

The thing that caught my attention to this is I no longer have a "Nvidia splash screen". Should I still have one?

I also noticed that when choosing a driver, you have the option of "disable ctrl-alt-backspace". Even though this option is not selected, I have no ctrl-alt-backspace.....it just makes my board beep.

Is this related to a Nvidia driver problem?

My experience with c-a-b and the beep is that it is there--you just have to hit it two or more times and then it functions.

And I lost my nvidia boot splash a long time ago-- I haven't missed it.
If it ain't broke, DON'T fix it!  If ya cain't fix it, ya gotta stand it.  If ya cain't stand it..............Visit the forum and search.

OK, I hit it twice and it does function......Thanks

I don't miss my splash screen either but I thought it not being there meant something was not right?
