Unable to see a boot splash silent theme
« on: April 15, 2010, 03:06:30 PM »
Hi,
1 . I have PCLOS installed on a Laptop, 17 inch wide screen, and the USplash doesn't appear, I only see the logging. Is there a way to chage this?
I have tryed through the Control Centre but no luck.

2. In this logs screen, I see what is loadig up [OK] or [FAILED] but on the top I see twice the logo of PClinuxOS, how can I change this image? Its a small image on the top left conrer repeated twice.

Thanks

Are you talking about two penguins in the top left corner of the screen?  If so they represent the number of CPU's in your machine.

I think I saw a post about no splash screen and it was caused by running compiz or some such. I really don't remember it well, but if you are running it you might try disabling it and seeing if that fixes your issue.  Let us know!

You cannot change those images as they are in the kernel however you should not see any images in verbose mode in 2010 as they are disabled in the kernel build. Improves boot time by 5 seconds.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

Its not 2 pinguins, but 2 PClinuxOS logo's, but cause I use a core 2 duo, it may rapresent the CPU's. Thanks for the answers.
Well Compiz is installed but not enabled, I will try to look in the forum for further information, but if somebody has other suggestions they are appreciated
