SOLVED : Very Quiet Sound
« on: April 14, 2010, 05:11:19 PM »
Hi
I am having trouble with the sound on my new install of PCLinuxOS 2010, it is very quiet.
The sound on beta 1 is fine, but beta 2 and the Gnome beta both have the same problem.
I was hoping the new the final version would have fixed the problem but it is sill very quiet ( and no it's not because I am a deaf old fool ).
Does any one have any Ideas about what I can tweak to fix the problem ? ???
Old ( and frustrated ) Jim

PS apart from that it's grrrraaat. ;D

Hi

I found on two of my installs that the speaker slider was missing in the mixer. Went to settings -> configure channels and added the speaker channel and could then adjust the volume.

Hope this helps

Rick.

Hi Rick
Thank you for the reply.
I forgot to mention I have a 64bit laptop, and so I have managed to solve my problem by installing a 64bit kernel from the repositories.
regards Jim
