Hey guys.  Found an article on twitter pertaining to ipod touch and iphone working with Linux.  bit.ly/c60Kpu

I was about to try it out - Guess i'll report my findings.....unless someone else has already tried.

Wow!

I've been running away, fast, from all ipod devices because they don't offer more compatibility. This actually looks like I'll have to get an iphone if they get everything working :-) The project status looks promising, one-way sync. with most of the information, but I assume the other way (device->computer) are being worked on.

Should be worth a package suggest. For easy addition this link is the Mandriva source rpm - http://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/ftp.mandriva.com/MandrivaLinux/devel/cooker/SRPMS/main/release/libimobiledevice-1.0.0-1mdv2010.1.src.rpm - so packaging it to pclinux is even easier,

other necessary dependencies, if not already built here, are at: http://libimobiledevice.org/

cheers,
MBantz

Well ironically, I actually just got a touch because some of the apps looks cool, like a terminal reference.  I got it to help me work in the terminal but I can't get it to work on my system -  :o

While trying to perform these actions, I think I am just screwing up even more - and I think I found something else I messed up with last week.  I'll have to investigate more when I have more time....

So to everyone in the IRC PCLinuxOS support channel -  I'll see you later!

Eventually, the best way of testing it - is with a pclinuxos built system, If you suggest the application in 'Package Suggest' section (remember to read the sticky how-to on suggesting applications) and it get more votes, I'll gladly package it for pclinuxos (also include the two links I've found),

cheers,
