<Fixed>MiniMe 2010: Can't Connect.
« on: April 12, 2010, 10:43:09 PM »
Just installed Minime 2010. I can not get it to connect. I go to PCC and my Ethernet Card is seen but when I select "Connect" I get a brief flash of the pop up you get as it connects but the popup disappears before it fully forms. Can not connect from the live CD.

what are you connecting to? a router or? did you configure to use dynamic or static ip address? can any other computer connect?

what does this command give you?

ifconfig
.. 3 things are certain in life : death, taxes and software bloat ..
.. tell me something i don't know, something i can use as i struggle to reason with the world around me ..

Connecting through an Ethernet switch to a router using default settings. Since I'm posting this on the same computer it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. Will try ifconfig and post back. Thanks for the quick reply.

It would appear that your network is not properly setup. Try removing it and resetting it up in PCC.

As it turned out I had to go into hardware and configure my network adapter. Perhaps my memory is failing but I don't recall ever having to do that before. IIRC always before I just went to Network Internet in PCC, chose my card, and clicked Connect. Well at least I know now what to do. Thank you all for the replies.
