PClinuxOS kde4 full updated
kernel 2.6.27.31.tex5
Old motherboard asus P5GC-MX/GBL audio on board, (bad caps) its a basket case, but everything was working up to then.

New board
P5G41-M audio Intel Corp. 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Def
Everything else works but the sound, which does work in windows xp, boards good.
@ boot I get a line about install ALSA calling alsadriver 1.0.21-1pclos2009. it then starts HAL deamon .....
then anacron...... followed by bad exit 7 Installation skipped.
From the utilities folder or the konsole the aslaconf script runs and would appear to work. It sees the right audio but thinks its a card not on motherboard or is there any differance? even says have fun at the end but we are not having any fun yet.

I have also run it from the PCC using hardware detect and the sound card method both of which would act as if this is not a problem, but still an error msg at log in about audio not working.
modprobe.conf

Have completely removed with synaptic the dkms alsa and rebooted then re installed the dkms alsa and reboot and a number of other combination's
I hope this audio is supported or am I just missing something here?.
