Any ideas on how to get the Winfast DTV Dongle Gold working?

I have a DNTV live cx23880 card working since TV either has nothing worth watching or heaps I got a Winfast DTV Dongle Gold but I can not get it working.
So far I have tried installing the firmware using the Repos and then overwriting it using a download from http://www.otit.fi/~crope/v4l-dvb/af9015/af9015_firmware_cutter/firmware_files/4.95.0/dvb-usb-af9015.fw

I am using kernel 2.6.27.31.tex5

I don't know anything about your particular device, but as a blanket suggestion I would try a newer version of PClos. 

The reason being that the driver will be part of the kernel, and a newer kernel may fix your problem.

The easiest way to try it is to download one of the 2010 liveCDs, boot that and see if it works.  Just run it as a liveCD and maybe install a good TV app to see if it works.  That way you don't have to disturb your main OS.
