Perhaps I misunderstood. I thought raregazz was trying to have a transparent conky.
If the goal was to have a translucent, or just a similarly colored background conky, I was mislead by the title.
I know it's not necessary to start conky or feh from a script.
My thinking was that the transparency, or lack thereof, was due to the order in which feh and conky were started.
