Adding Hardware After Install (SOLVED)
« on: March 29, 2010, 11:48:41 AM »
I have PcLinux 2009 running as a web server and it has been doing a great job for the last couple of months. I would like to add a second NIC card to the system to further utilize this box on my network but I am not sure how to go about it.

I am trying to avoid a complete reinstall even though I would rather be running the 2010 beta2 because I don't want to go through all the Apache, PHP and MySql issues I had originally when I set this up.

I added the second card and booted the machine but the OS did not notice the change.
I then booted to the live-cd and the second card was seen and configured (ADMtek NC100 "tulip" module)
Is there any way to extract this driver from the live-cd and use it to bring up the card in my 2009 install or am I looking at starting over with a fresh install?

Also, is it possible to upgrade my current install to the beta2 2010 without destroying all the software I have installed or crippling my current configuration?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks for looking!

No, after I rebooted pcc still just shows the eth0 interface.
When I boot to the live-cd both cards are identified and the drivers are loaded fine though.

go to pcc, system, manage system services..., and enable harddrake.
