Help required for Unetbootin [Solved]
« on: March 28, 2010, 04:24:07 PM »
I'm trying to run Unetbootin with PCLinuxOS but get an error that 'p7zip-full' is missing.
I've tried the usual Google method but it doesn't seem to cover this distro.
Any ideas how I can get it running would be appreciated.

I just installed Unetbootin with the Synaptic.  Opened it in the menu and everything was OK.  Is it worth uninstalling and then re-installing.  Just as suggestion.

Great suggestion kentuckylodge and it worked!!
I installed with Synaptic and copied the program over to a flash disc which now opens Unetbootin.
However I'm now stumped again because it wont boot into anything and stops with this error message 'cant access tty'.
This is obviously another issue but I'll mark as solved because the main objective has been achieved.

Many thanks to you

Hi Sleepy,

you write that you copied the program to flash disc - you mean the content of the .iso right? (unetbootin is to be run from the menu in pclinux and create a bootable install usb)

I've spent a complete day and night trying to get unetbooin to work with 2010 beta 2 - I've got around installing with another usb-util, but found out that a 2G usb stick must be formatted to fat-16. Actually I noticed there was a difference when formatting to fat-16 in Microsoft Vista and in PCLinux - only the Vista format was recognized by my bios - now I'm googling what on earth the difference is
