Open Office in home directory
« on: March 26, 2010, 02:40:05 AM »
I download arhive with OO from russian distributor, wich make it more suitable for russian (ukrainian) users
I unpack arhive and start instalation. OO installed in my home directory. I have no shortcut neither in menu nor in desktop/
Can I move OO in directory with soft (witch?) or if I reinstall OO, in witch directory I must do it?

Thanks

If I understand you correctly, you installed openoffice from an outside source? Openoffice is available from the repositories and you should only install software from a repository.

Since you are a new member, is this a new install of PCLinux? If so which version did you install?

I've install PCLOS 2010 beta 2 and OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 Pro

I've never heard of OpenOffice 3.1.1. pro but Openoffice desktop files go into /usr/share/applications folder. You probably would have better results by removing the OO Pro and using the getopenoffice in the Office menu on Beta 2.

Hi Ander8,

please first remove the OpenOffice you have installed because we have a Ukranian OpenOffice available via the tool: PCmenu -> Office -> Get OpenOffice. The OO-application will then be available under PCmenu -> Office.
You can also change your system to Ukrainian via the tool: PCmenu -> More Applications -> Configuration -> Add Locale.

good luck,
