gdm theme tip for e17 beta
« on: March 21, 2010, 05:32:47 PM »
If you want to change the gdm theme or enable auto logon in the e17 beta, just run this command in a root terminal.

Code: [Select]
gdmsetup
This will bring up the gdm settings and you can set things however you like.  ;D

If you want to use E-17 login manager instead of GDM then install entrance and set it in PCC -> Boot -> Setup Display Manager. You will also need to edit /etc/draklive-install.d/sysconfig/Desktop file and change to DISPLAYMANAGER=E17

I kind of like the idea of gdm, it's easy to change themes, really easy to make a gdm theme. linuxera made a good choice with gdm and it keeps things interesting.  ;D

Agust, I might be able to, it's been a while since I made any gdm themes though. If a certain graphics artist were to make a couple of wallpapers with the logs and lettering moved up, I might try and come up with something, hint, hint. ;D

We need something with the new logo and the same lettering used in the grub splash so we would have consistency in the artwork, maybe the same image as the grub splash only with the logo moved up. Linuxera used a face browser, so we would want to stick with what she wants for this unless she says otherwise. Something blue would be nice because linuxera used blue throughout the theme and we want it to look cool. PM me if you you are interested in working with me again on this. It might take me a couple of days to make this because of work and I will have to figure out the xnest commands again but we could probably come up with something nice for this.

Well Exploder , I can spend e17 pictures and logos,  well remember old times   :D  , but the images you want are a matter of Linuxera.
