Can't use FTP, WGET, etc...
« on: March 19, 2010, 06:44:54 AM »
For some time I've been unable to use wget to download files.  (I get a can't resolve host name error). Last night I found out about the -4 flag, tried it, and wget worked...

So wget and my ftp programs are trying to use IPv6, which isn't working for me.  The thing is... I've supposedly disabled IPv6 both in modprobe.conf (using alia ipv6 off) and in the Network Center's advanced settings.

Wget is less of a problem because I can force it to use ipv4... but I don't see how I can force apps like gftp and filezilla to use ipv4 addresses.

If I try and activate ipv6, my computer freezes.

Any suggestions?
