It's better to use the PCLinuxOS Control Center (PCC) for the time settings.
System > time and date settings.

PCC = Blue, black icon with tools in it.

i have seen systems that refuse to accept a new hour/date and you have to go to bios and set it there

are you on kde3 or kde4?

Please allow 1 minute for the change to show in the taskbar after you enter your root password.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

Seems date and time settings on KDE have no root permissions ( it don't ask for password).

It does for me. It doesn't work for time zone but for time/date it asks me for root password. Then after I hit apply about a minute later the time on the taskbar changes. This is a brand new Beta 2 install updated as of 10 minutes ago.

My mistake, it's also working here, but I'm used the time and date setting via PCC.  :o :o
Time/Date settings in the timezone works in PCC and for using the NTP servers.

I don't think the KDE developers expect you to be running their desktop as root!
