AMD K6 not supported - cmov
« on: March 16, 2010, 05:12:04 PM »
I heard a rumor that Phoenix had a legacy kernel, and I hoped it would work with my K6.  It fails as soon as it starts to load the kernel saying the CPU doesn't support the cmov function.  Is there a chance that the kernel can be configured to support my computer?  Phoenix is just what it needs.

I fear for your success. As far as I know you need a 2.4 kernel for that processor. Will or could be hard to keep up that way.

That's great, Sproggy.  I've had to rely on 2.4 kernels for that CPU, but I'm sure it's worked with some 2.6 kernels too.  Here's hoping your legacy kernel works when you get to it.-)
