Just Set Up PC Linux OS Beta 1....Questions...

I did it...put it on 

I'll have various questions as i go along...but at the moment...How do i do the updates on it? 
Also, i had to set my clock on the lower panel manually...didn't seem to want to do an automatic setting to the time bureau...
And, how about adjusting the touchpad on my laptop?  I went into the "mouse section" but was a bit confused on what to do...

Open Synaptic  (this icon --->)

Click Reload --> Mark All Upgrades --> Apply --> Apply in that order. Wait for each task to complete before going on to the next.
