I installed ver 10 beta as a dual boot without a hitch but I'm a bit clueless & lost as to why SANE says it'll support my SCSI Umax scanner & the OS finds it but SANE no worky. Works fine in Windoze.
Is Kooka still supported? Synaptic doesn't find its RPM.
I've never run a scanner under Linux so any help would be most appreciated.
I ran these terminal commands based on advice given in another thread.
[root@localhost ~]# lsusb

[root@localhost ~]# sane-find-scanner
# sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the
# result is different from what you expected, first make sure your
# scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.
found SCSI scanner "UMAX UMAX S-12 V2.1" at /dev/sg3 # Your SCSI scanner was detected. It may or may not be supported by SANE. Try
# scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage..
