KMail setup [Solved]
« on: March 12, 2010, 06:33:13 PM »
Has anybody else had problems setting up KMail or is it just me?
I've so far managed to set it to receive mails but cant for the life of me seem to send anything.
Ok so it's no big deal as I've now put Thunderbird in which can be rigged up in a couple of minutes but after 3 hours of messing it's become a personal goal to get it working.
Apart from that(and it's most likely down to me) this KDE 2010-beta1 is just fantastic and my thanks go to Tex & everybody concerned. :)

libsasl2-plug-anonymous-2.1.22-22pclos2007.i586.rpm
libsasl2-plug-digestmd5-2.1.22-22pclos2007.i586.rpm
libsasl2-plug-gssapi-2.1.22-22pclos2007.i586.rpm
libsasl2-plug-ldapdb-2.1.22-22pclos2007.i586.rpm
libsasl2-plug-login-2.1.22-22pclos2007.i586.rpm
libsasl2-plug-ntlm-2.1.22-22pclos2007.i586.rpm
libsasl2-plug-otp-2.1.22-22pclos2007.i586.rpm
libsasl2-plug-plain-2.1.22-22pclos2007.i586.rpm
libsasl2-plug-sasldb-2.1.22-22pclos2007.i586.rpm

Hi there

Will these be added to the lived-cd for 2010?

Otherwise a lot of regular uses will run into the problem on a fresh install?

Thanks

All the above files are incorporated and installable through Synaptic Package Manager.

Hi

I did install them and it worked fine.
It was a small DL and would avoid frustration for new users that will not be able to send email (via gmail in my case).

Not a problem for me, but this is first time I have not been able to send email via kmail, on a distro.

For a email program (the default one at that) not to be able to send mail on a default install would be quite ironic ;)

Looks like Texstar will be resolving this on the live-cd

Looks like Pclos 2010 will be the return for Pclinuxos, looks very promising, I left a few years ago, but looks like a good time to come back again now.
The forums here where a bit harsh and short a few years back, so hope things have settles down a bit since then :)
