updating lxde 2009.4
« on: March 07, 2010, 02:36:57 AM »

Updating problem

The instruction for updating is simple:
Synaptic > reload Synaptic reloads,
by other words loads some files from a repository.
After that > Mark All Upgrades > klick on Allow and
follow by allow.

When I do it nothing happens. Who can tell me why?

When Synaptic is activated I can read att the bottom line:
11794 packages listed, 1576 installed, 0 broken, 0 to install/upgrade, 0 to remove.

I was looking at repositories. I have ac activated:
rpm http://ftp.belnet.be/mirror/pclinuxonline.com/apt

The very interesting details on that are:
Distribution      Sections
pclinuxos/2007      main extra nonfree kde gnome

uname -a gives:
[root@localhost erikx]# uname -a
Linux localhost 2.6.26.8.tex3 #1 SMP Mon Jan 12 04:33:38 CST 2009 i686 AMD Sempron(tm) 2400+ GNU/Linux
[root@localhost erikx]#

The most surpricing thing is that I duly installed PCLinuxOS LXDE 2009.4 from
LINUX MAGAZINE ISSUE 1098 DEC 2009 DVD-Disk.

By that there must be an explanation concerning repositories.

Is this a new installation? Or are you simply trying to update your system? In Synaptic, under Custom (lower left), are there any updates shown as available?

0 to upgrade means there are no marked upgrades. As none have become available recently, this would be correct.

We are currently working on a 2010 release.
