error: unable to open preload file "/etc/sysctl.conf"
« on: March 11, 2010, 08:13:34 PM »
Hi, I am getting the following when trying to update my older pclinuxos.

Welcome to PCLinuxOS 2010
Press I...
... error: unable to open preload file "/etc/sysctl.conf"    [FAILLED]
Setting clock                        [OK]
Starting udev: /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit: line 410: 492 killed                 /sbin/start_udev
INIT: Entering runnlevel: 5
INIT: Id "1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

it just hangs there after that... once i saw the next line
something like: INIT: Id "2" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

Please let me know if there is a way to possibly fix this. (this is an an HP Laptop dv6113)
Cheers,
Alex
