I started a topic that produced requests to kick my a$$. I tried deleting it, and received a message saying I couldn't delete the first post in a thread, but I could ask a moderator to delete it. I clicked on the Report To Moderator link and asked, to no avail. If I create a thread (especially one which in its very nature can never be solved), and change my mind, shouldn't I be able to un-create it? More precisely, shouldn't a moderator delete it on request? If it's producing such bad press or even threats, couldn't it be deleted in the interest of Forum peace if nothing else?
I know others favor the Ignore button approach, and I'm sure quite a few people ignore me. I tend to have that affect on a lot of people, as well as causing at least two people that I know of to call for some sort of retaliation against me specifically. Fine, my poor social skills come through even in text. In order to offend fewer people, I'll simply post less, starting with the withdrawal of the offensive thread I started, please.
