The printing problem I discovered with AbiWord 2.6.8 (bundled on the PCLinuxOS 2009.4 LXDE Live/Install CD) is a recognized bug, confirmed by a reply to a post to AbiWord User's Mailing List. I doubt if anyone reading this is still using version 2.6.8, as I am, but there is a workaround to this bug. If you have the AbiWord PDF plug-in installed, and have a PDF viewer installed, such as Adobe Reader, documents can be saved in AbiWord as PDF, then printed using the PDF viewer. "Print/Current page", "Print/Page ranges ...", and "Print/Selection" all work as they should when I print inside Adobe Reader 8. I am advised that the newest version of AbiWord has resolved this printing glitch. Fortunately, I also have "SoftMaker-Office 2008 Suite" installed, so I only need use AbiWord for printing address labels. AbiWord handles OTT-files, if the necessary plug-in is installed.
ADDENDUM: TextMaker (part of the SoftMaker-Office 2008 Suite) handles OTT-files very nicely, as well as ODT-files, so no need to use AbiWord at all.
