USB Microphones
« on: March 01, 2010, 07:59:30 PM »
Hi,
Does PCLos work with USB Microphones?
I have tried the pin variety that plugs into the sound card but can not get much volume from them.
So I was wondering if the USB variety would be better?

most microphones will require the mic boost+20db in kmix(the same thing on windows if you remember)

usb mics, i remember a post saying that it works but is kinda complicated because it is a bridge to the sound card or something similar, the mic jack is direct

I've also found that USB mics have to be plugged in for boot. (could just be the kde boot though)

I usually use a usb headset for skype with my laptop so I just plug it in before I power up.
